Fed up of winzip, winrar, tar untar.....??? Try 7-zip Free & Open only 1Mb installation

7-Zip works in Windows 7 / Vista / XP / 2008 / 2003 / 2000 / NT / ME / 98. There is a port of the command line version to Linux/Unix.

Its Free and Open Source which replaces all the licensed winzip, winrar utilities with One Utility.
Installation file size is only JUST ONE MEGA BYTE (1 MB) ..


Supported formats:
  • Packing / unpacking: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR
  • Unpacking only: ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, DMG, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MSI, NSIS, RAR, RPM, UDF, WIM, XAR and Z.

    Thanks Madhu,
    7-zip is a marvellous software.
    I wonder how they are able to achieve this in just 1 MB installation size.
    I have thrown away all the other archiving softwares and now using only 7-zip.
    With this I am able to open tar, zip, rar, gz... files. Thanks to 7-zip team.

    You can even open and see the contents of an SETUP File ( .exe) on 7-zip. For more file type association
    startmenu--> programs --> 7-zip--> 7-zip File Manager --> tools--> options ---> select all
